Veronica Lynn in a Nutshell
Before she took on any other title, Veronica was first just the "weird kid". She loved reading, dragons, looking at bugs, building contraptions, and attempting to make wine under her bed, and later she loved heavy metal, wearing black, weightlifting, and tea parties. It was at the tender age of 14 that she discovered belly dance for the first time: it was at a Renaissance faire in Tampa Bay, Florida. The music, the costumes, and of course the dance moves all entranced her, so she began learning the next day and the rest, as they say, is history.
Veronica currently lives & misbehaves in Austin, Texas, and although she's not a Texan native, she got here as fast as she could. Veronica grew up in sunny Orlando, Florida, where she studied under the dancer Lacey Sanchez. Later she went on to study under April Rose, and has also learned from Melanie LaJoie, Sharon Kihara, Zoe Jakes, Rachel Brice, Laura Barsalou, Mardi Love, and Kami Liddle.
Fusion belly dance is Veronica's passion, and her sub-passions in that category include live improvised performance, costuming, teaching, learning, and most of all bringing together members of the arts community in Austin. Her dream is to create more platforms for dancers to perform and earn a living. She also has visions of all her favorite local musicians, belly dancers, and visual artists holding hands and singing Kumbaya in harmony. Dreams are what drive us, dear reader.
Aside from her pursuit of ultimate mastery in belly dance, Veronica's other talents include making music, tying knots in cherry stems with her tongue at record speeds, licking her elbow (try it), digital collage, and professional figure modeling. She is an experienced model both in art and photography, and hopes to spend more time behind the lens in the future. She currently performs & produces events in Austin, Texas.
